Avoid long exposure to sun during afternoon and avoid wearing dark colour clothes

Normal life paralyzed due to severe heat wave in many parts of country. Yesterday Chandrapur recorded the highest temperature with the mercury reaching 48-degree Celsius. There is no relief in sight for coming two days either in the region.

The risk of sunstroke is high and therefore district administration and health department have issued advisories.

The health department has suggested avoiding long exposure to the sun during afternoon hours and avoid wearing dark colour clothes. consuming water and fruit juice and resting in the shade during the afternoon is also recommended.

According to the regional meteorological department, Very light to light rainfall occurred at isolated places over Vidarbha yesterday but it provided to relief to the citizens.

In Uttar Pradesh, people are reeling under the heat wave and high temperature.

The temperature has gone beyond 44 degree Celsius in most parts of the state. Hospitals are full of the patients of Heatstroke and diarrhoea.

The scorching heat has led to water scarcity in many areas especially in the Bundelkhand region where people are having a tough time beating the heat.

In Banda, Orai and Hamirpur day temperature recorded close to 47 degrees.

Allahabad was the hottest place in the state yesterday with 47.6-degree temperature which was 6 degree above normal. The heatwave has left people inside their homes and streets become deserted by afternoon. In the night also People are not getting any relief because of mercury reaching 29 to 30.5 degrees.

As per the metrological department, no relief is likely in coming days while many parts of the state are expected to witness extreme heat wave.
