Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today reiterated that Centre was willing to talk to all stakeholders for bringing lasting peace and development in Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference at Sher e Kashmir International Convention Centre here on the first day of his two day visit to the state, Singh appealed to the people to come forward for peace and development of the state.
He said, the Centre will take all measures to overcome the obstacles to bring lasting peace in Kashmir. He lauded the role of security forces including Army and Police who he said, have worked with utmost restraint. The Home Minister said, extending the suspension of counter terrorist operations in Ramzan will be discussed after taking into account all aspects of security.
Mr Singh said, the central govt is profoundly concerned about the future of youth and development of the state as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of “not by bullet or abuse, only by embracing Kashmiris” remains core spirit of the BJP government.
The Home Minister said, the Centre has decided to withdraw cases against those misled into stone pelting as it is concerned about the future of youth.He lambasted Pakistan for continuing anti India activities by aiding and abetting terror activities in J&K.
Earlier, Mr Singh felicitated several sportspersons from the state, at a Sports Conclave at Sher e Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex.He also reviewed security situation in the State and arrangements for upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra beginning on 28th of this month.
Mr Singh was accompanied by Union Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Home Secretary, Rajiv Gauba and other senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
