More than 85 percent polling recorded during second phase of election for Panchayati Raj Institutions in Haryana, today.The maximum polling of 91.6 percent has been recorded in Sirsa.
Haryana State Election Commissioner Rajiv Sharma said that the there is no report of any untoward incident and overall the polling was peaceful. He said that those voters, who were inside the polling centres after 4PM were allowed to cast their votes. He said that where the polling has completed, the counting of votes is going on and till now result of 300 Sarpanches has been declared.
He said that this time on order of court, the undertrials in Bhiwani Jail have been allowed to cast their vote inside the jail campus and their votes have been dispatched to their respective polling booths.
As per records received so far at Commission`s office , 86 percent polling is recorded which is more than 85 percent polling recorded during second phase of Panchayat polls.The maximum 91.8 percent polling is reported from Sirsa.Leaving Palwal, every where more than 80 percent polling is recorded.
Meanwhile the counting of votes for Panches and Sarpanches is going on and till now 550 results of Sarpanch have been declared. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has thanked the people for their support to amendment in Panchayati Raj Act and for their record participation in polls.
