The 84-km-long road, connecting border town of Gurez with district headquarters Bandipora reopened on Thursday.
The road was closed due to the accumulation of snow for about a week. Dozens of far-flung and remote villages, including those near the Line of Control (LoC) in the frontier district of Kupwara remained closed since Saturday due to snowfall.
Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said travellers have been asked to tie anti-skid chain with their vehicle tyre which is mandatory to avoid any accident.
