Heavy rains lashed several parts of Saurashtra region of Gujarat disrupting normal life in the region. Morbi, Rajkot, Surendranagar and Banaskantha are worst affected districts.

 At least 7 persons died in rain related incidents in last 48 hour. This includes two deaths in Ahmedabad while one death each reported from Rajkot, Surendranagar, Aravalli, Banaskantha and Gandhinagar. 3 persons were reported missing after their car got swept in flood waters of Ruparel river near Aliayabada in Jamnagar district.

Air Force and the National Disaster Response Force are helping the state administration in relief and rescue operations.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani held an emergency meeting to review the situation. Mr Rupani instructed the state administration to remain extra alert as the weather department has given a warning of heavy rains in Gujarat in the next 48 hours.
