Six left parties including CPI, CPM and CPI(ML) have decided to contest the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar jointly. Decision was taken in a joint convention of the parties at Patna.

On this occasion, former CPI General Secretary A.B. Bardhan said this was the first concerted effort by the Left parties to expose what he called the opportunist alliance of RJD-JD(U)-Congress as well as NDA which he accused of misleading people by diverting their attention from real issues.

CPM General Secretary Sitaram yechury alleged that Nitish Kumar-led RJD, JD( U) and Congress are trying their best to returning power by hook and crook. Mr. Yechury said the alliance of 6 parties will give alternative people not for Bihar but for the country also.
