The Chandigarh Police and the Counter Intelligence Wing of the Punjab Police, in a joint operation, have solved the grenade attack outside the Bharatiya Janta Party’s State Office at Chandigarh on April 1st, with the arrest of five accused involved in the incident. One hand grenade and other ammunition have also been recovered from their possession.
Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav informed that two more absconding key perpetrators have also been identified, and raids are on to apprehend them as well. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the module was backed by Pak-ISI and operated under the direction of foreign-based handlers located in Portugal and Germany. Further investigation is ongoing.
