A moderate earthquake of 5.5 magnitude in the Richter Scale jolted Arunachal Pradesh and its adjoining Assam at around 4.24 am today morning.

AIR correspondent reports that according to the Indian Meteorological Department, the epicentre of the earthquake is located at a depth of 10 KM in East Kameng District. In the last 24 hours, Arunachal Pradesh has been jolted by 4 moderate earthquakes, with three epicentres in East Kameng District alone.

Yesterday, the state witnessed three moderate earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.6, 3.8 and 4.9 in the Richter Scale. There is no report of loss of life and property due to the earthquakes as of now.
