Four persons were injured as security forces allegedly opened fire to disperse protesters in Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir. Three among the injured have been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment. Details are awaited.

Meanwhile, Pakistani troops today violated the ceasefire along the international border in J&K by resorting to small arm firing on the forward Regal Post in Samba sector.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Joginder Singh said Pakistan Rangers fired five to six rounds of small arms at around 0215 hours. He said BSF personnel manning the forward position did not retaliate.

Pakistan Army had on Sunday resorted to mortar shelling and firing in Poonch sector after a lull of nearly seven months, following which the two sides held a battalion commander-level flag meeting to discuss the situation.
