The election commission of India Saturday instructed Bihar government to immediate stop ongoing ‘Badh Chala Bihar’ (Bihar moving forward) campaign.
The Joint secretary of Bihar State Election Office said that the commission has asked the government to postpone the campaign till completion of the election process of Bihar legislative council.
Voting for 24 seats of legislative council will take place on July 7. The election process will complete on July 14.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had launched on 9th June a high-tech ‘Badh Chala Bihar’ (Bihar moving forward) initiative to directly reach out to the masses and seek their ideas and suggestions for the state’s development.
The state unit of BJP had approached Election Commission to immediate intervene as model code of conduct is in force since June 4th following announcement of the election for the vacant Bihar legislative council seats.
