Under Vande Bharat mission, three flights will be arriving in Kerala today carrying over 500 expatriates from Gulf region. The flights are scheduled from Muscat to Kozhikode, Dubai to Thiruvananthapuram and Doha to Kochi. All the flights are expected to reach by late evening today.
Meanwhile special train from Delhi reached Thiruvananthapuram today morning. The passengers include people from various districts of the State and also from Tamil Nadu . 266 people arrived in the capital city.
After medical screening one person showing symptoms was shifted to hospital and the rest were transferred to quarantine centers. The State Health Minister K.K.Shailaja said that the State is prepared to face any situation as in coming days more positive cases are expected as more people will be returning .
She said that fear of community spread exists and the precautionary measures are straightened accordingly and the safety of the people including those return will remain the primary concern .Presently 161 active Covid cases are there in Kerala .
