Three terrorists were killed in a gunfight along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowgam sector of Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district today. One soldier was also killed during the operation. Security sources told that the militants were killed after troops foiled an infiltration bid in Nowgam sector.
At least two major infiltration bids were foiled by the forces during past two days along Line of Control in two sectors in Kupwara which has witnessed a large number of infiltration bids recently besides Bandipora and Baramulla districts.
Security sources said the counter infiltration grid remains alert and fully equipped to foil such bids from across Line of Control.
