Three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces after they attacked an army camp in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district Jammu and Kashmir today. Defence ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that a group of militants opened fire on an army camp at Langate at around 5 AM. However, alert army personnel guarding the camp immediately retaliated foiling the militant attempt to storm into the camp.
After repulsing the attack, the security forces launched a search operation in the area, during which the militants fired upon them, leading to an encounter. Three AK 47 rifles have been recovered from the spot. Colonel Kalia said, operation is still continuing in the areas.
