The Director General of Police Karamveer singh said in Lucknow that two police personnel and a villager have been killed in the clashes between farmers from Bhatta Parasul area and police forces.

The DGP announced that all three hostages have been freed and are safe. The three officials belong to UP Roadways were held as hostage by agitated farmers of Bhatta Parsual village who are demanding higher compensation and other benefits against their acquired land.

Meanwhile the Uttar Pradesh government has announced five lakh rupees financial assistance from the Chief Minster’s fund for the family of two deceased police personnel.
