Chasing a target of 279 runs, India were 178 for 2 in 30.2 overs against South Africa in the second ODI at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, when the reports last came in.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, the visitors raced to 278 for seven in 50 overs, with impressive knocks from Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks. Markram scored 79 runs off while Hendricks hammered 74 runs off 76 balls.

For India, Mohammed Siraj took three wickets. Debutant Shahbaz Ahmed took his maiden ODI wicket. Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur also bagged a scalp each for India.
