The Supreme Court-appointed probe team led by former top police officer M L Sharma today sought a copy of original visitors’ diary having names of persons who had visited the official residence of former CBI Director Ranjit Sinha in connection with coal scam case.

The diary allegedly contains names of persons, including those who are facing court cases in the 2G Spectrum and coal scams. Following the special probe team’s submission, the apex court has now referred Sharma’s plea to a bench which has been hearing 2G cases.

Now, the plea filed by the special probe team would be heard by the Chief Justice H L Dattu’s bench on Monday.

The apex court had on September 14th, entrusted M L Sharma with the power to summon any person in his inquiry against Sinha, accused of scuttling probe in the coal block scam as the agency’s chief.
