At least 29 people have been confirmed dead and 28 injured after a double-storeyed restaurant collapsed on Saturday in the city of Linfen in north China’s Shanxi Province, local authorities said.
The accident happened on Saturday morning when there was a gathering at the restaurant in Xiangfen County, according to the rescue team.
The rescue work has been completed today. A total of 57 people were pulled out of the debris of the collapsed two-storey building. An investigation team has been set up to probe the accident.
The Work Safety Committee of China’s State Council will supervise the investigation into the incident, the committee said in a statement.
