A statement issued by the Directorate General of Shipping here said that the vessel MV Fairchem Bogey was hijacked today while it was at the port of Salalah anchorage near the Gulf of Aden. It however, did not say who the hijackers were.
The Gulf of Aden close to the port of Salalah has been witnessing repeated hijacking of ships by Somali pirates in the past one year.
