Two students were killed after a gunman opened fire at Saugus High School in southern California in the United States yesterday. Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said during a press conference that the victims including the suspect were taken to the local hospital with gunshot wounds.

Villanueva said the authorities saw school surveillance video showing the 16-year-old male student, pull a gun out of his backpack and shoot five other students before shooting himself in the head. The suspect, who is in grave condition, used a point 45 caliber semi-automatic pistol in the shooting.

What happened: A student went to Saugus High School in Santa Clarita and shot five classmates and himself yesterday, authorities said.


The victims: Two victims — Grace Anne Muehlberger, 15, and Dominic Blackwell, 14 — died at a hospital.


The suspect: Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said the 16-year-old suspected gunman is in critical condition. The shooting happened on his birthday.
