At least 2 miners have been killed and several labourers are reported to be trapped in an accident at coal mines of Coal India in Umaria district of Madhya Paradesh today.. Rescue operations are in full swing to save trapped labourers and technicians.
Official sources said that death toll could be higher. According to official the incident happened when roof collapsed when miners were preparing way inside the mine.
This coal mine is controlled by South Eastern Coalfields Limited, the largest coal producing company in the country.
