Reaching out to families top priority, says Indian envoy

At least three people, two Indians and a Pakistani, were killed and six were injured in a series of reported drone strikes on three fuel tankers and a storage facility of oil firm ADNOC in Musaffah Industrial Area in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to UAE news agency WAM — The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) has announced that a fire, that broke out this morning in the Musaffah ICAD 3 area near the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and resulted in the explosion of three petroleum tankers, was brought under control. The incident led to the deaths of one Pakistani and two Indians, while another six people sustained mild and moderate injuries, it added. Relevant authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Police added that the blast may be caused by a drone hit. The fire provoked an explosion in three tanks for transporting fuel in the Misfah area near the fuel depots of the Emirati state-owned company ADNOC. A small fire also broke out in the construction area of the new airport of the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree told the Almasirah broadcaster that the Yemeni rebel group will soon reveal details about the military operation in the UAE territory.

Talking to AIR News, Indian Envoy to United Arab Emirates Sunjay Sudhir said, two Indians have lost their lives in the explosion and the Indian Mission is working with the UAE authorities to ascertain their identities. He said, the top priority is to find out the identity of them so that the Embassy can reach out to their families and provide assistance.
