England have set a victory target of 194 runs for India in the Opening Test of five-match series at Birmingham.

Resuming at the overnight score of nine for one on the third day today, England were all out for 180 runs in their second innings, taking a total lead of 193 runs. For England, Sam Curran could only withstand the Indian bowling and made a respectable 63 runs.

Ishant Sharma took five wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin bagged three and Umesh Yadav two in the second innings.

Earlier, the play was stopped for a while due to bad light.

Yesterday, India were all out for 274 runs in reply to England’s first innings score of 287.

Indian captain Virat Kohli became 13th Indian cricketer to score 1,000 runs against England after he scored 149 runs in the first innings.
