At least 16 people including 9 women have died after consuming spurious country liquor in a Tea Estate in Golaghat district of Assam. Golaghat SP Pushpraj Singh said that the incident occurred last evening at Salmara tea estate. Several persons are undergoing treatment at Golaghat and Jorhat. Police and Excise department are investigating the matter.
