A total of 142 Bangladeshi persons returning from Italy have been put under quarantine at the Ashkona Hajj Camp near the Hazrat Shah Jalal international airport in Dhaka. The passengers arrived from Italy on Saturday morning reports the UNB.
Briefing media on Saturday Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Director Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora said that that nobody among the 142 Italy returnees is showing symptoms of infection.
Italy has recorded the highest number of Corona virus related deaths in Europe.
Bangladesh had reported three cases of Corona virus-positive patients who were admitted to the hospital in Dhaka on 8th March. Subsequently, two of them reported negative for the virus infection and one was released from the hospital.
The third person patient has also tested negative for the virus infection. Informing this to media IEDCR Director Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora said on Saturday that the patient will be released if he tests negative in the second test to be conducted after 24 hours.
In the meanwhile, the movement of Bangladeshi citizens to India has been suspended at all the land ports of the country in view of the suspension of the visa facility by India.
