More than 14 thousand people are reeling under the fury of flood in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts of Assam. Official sources said that flood water has affected over two thousand hectares of crop land.
Apart from flood, land erosion also took a serious turn at Dhubri and Morigaon district, forcing people to move to higher and safer places.
State Disaster Management Authority has issued flood alert at six revenue circles in Barpeta and Dhubri districts for the next 36 hours.
