They were protesting against the land acquisition and alleged police atrocities against villagers during recent farmers’ agitation in which four persons were killed in clashes between police and protestors.
Detained farmers were taken to the police line and released later. District administration has alleged that farmers of a village in Greater NOIDA area assaulted two employees of Greater NOIDA Authority who had gone there to conduct a survey of land under unauthorized occupation. The employees later lodged a complaint with the police. Some persons have been detained by the police in this connection.

Meanwhile the National Commission for Women, NCW has demanded an immediate CBI enquiry into the Bhatta Parsaul firing incident in Greater Noida on 7th of May.
