Board of Control for Cricket in India – BCCI president Shashank Manohar was scheduled to meet Pakistan Cricket Board chief Shahryar Khan in Mumbai today to discuss revival of cricketing ties between the two countries. The meeting had to be postponed following heavy slogan shouting and display of placards outside the BCCI headquarters at Wankhede Stadium.

Shiv Sena activists had also gheraoed Shashank Manohar in his office shortly before the meeting could start. They were carrying saffron flags and black flags to condemn resumption of Indo-Pak cricketing ties.

This is the second time in eight days that Sena workers have been booked by Mumbai Police for protests against Pakistan and its dignitaries.

Last Monday, Police Mumbai had arrested six Sena workers for blackening the face of ORF chairman Sudheendra Kulkarni, ahead of former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri’s book launch in the city.
