At least 10 people have died and more than 500 were displaced by a storm in Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo following heavy rains. The rain caused floods, landslides and damaged houses and roads, according to the National Bureau of Risk and Disaster Management. The rains come as southern parts of Madagascar are reeling from the worst drought in decades and the UN estimates that more than 1.3 million people there are in need of food.
