At least 10 people were injured in crude bomb blasts on the premises of a Hindu temple in Dinajpur, northern part of Bangladesh.  Police said miscreants hurled 3 crude bombs at a crowd of devotees during a Rash festival mela at Kantaji temple.

While the motive of the assailants in not known, police have arrested 3 for suspects.

The bombs were hurled on a makeshift structure on the temple grounds where local people were enjoying a religious drama, a traditional feature of the annual Rash festival.

Confirming the incident, Superintendent of police of Dinajpur, Ruhul Amin said police are conducting their search to arrest the culprits.

Soon after the blasts, police arrested three people for their alleged involvement with the incident, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports.

The daily further said the bombs might have been planted in the ground as most of the injured persons suffered splinter injuries in the lower part of the bodies.

Following the blast authorities have beefed up security in the area and cancelled the festival programmes.

The attack comes hardly within two weeks of an attack on Italian priest in Dinajpur, and a week after death threats were sent to 10 Christian priests in the district of Rangpur.

Dinajpur Superintendent of Police said police are investigating into the motive of the crime and 3 suspects have already been arrested.

Following the blast ,authorities have beefed up security in the area and cancelled further festival programmes specialy since the temple is also a tourist spot .
