India reported more than 1.5 lakh cases of dengue and 250 people died this year across the country. The data compiled by National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme under the Union Health Ministry showed that the maximum dengue deaths were reported from Tamil Nadu, where the disease claimed 63 lives followed by Maharashtra 41 lives.
Last year, during the same time period, the disease claimed 245 lives, while more than one lakh 29 thousand cases were reported. In Delhi, Dengue claimed nine lives, while over nine thousand cases were reported.
