The 53rd Director General Level Border Co-ordination Conference between Border Security Force (BSF), India and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB), will begin on Sunday, 11th June in Delhi. The meeting will conclude on 14th June with a Joint Record of Discussions (JRD).

The Bangladesh delegation arrived in Delhi on Saturday. DG, BGB Maj. Gen. A K M Nazmul Hasan was welcomed on arrival in Delhi by DG, Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen and senior officials of BSF. 

During the conference, the BSF delegation will be led by Director General Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen while the BGB delegation will be led by DG, BGB Maj. Gen. A K M Nazmul Hasan.

The conference will discuss border related issues and for better coordination between both border guarding forces. 

The conference will discuss ways to jointly curb the various trans-border crimes and timely sharing of information between both the Border Guarding Forces. Further, there will be deliberations on developmental and infrastructural works, joint efforts for effective implementation of Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) and Confidence Building Measures (CBMs). 

The last BSF-BGB Border Coordination Conference was held from 17th to 21 July 2022 at Dhaka in Bangladesh. 

The first meeting between the DG of BSF Ashwani Kumar and DG of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), later renamed BGB, Quazi Golam Dastagir was held on 2nd December 1975 in Kolkata. The meeting continued in an annual format alternatively held in India and Bangladesh till 1993. After 1993, the DG level coordination meeting is being held biannually.
