The Death toll in last night’s dust storm, lightning and heavy rain related incidents in Uttar Pradesh, has reached 13. Nine people have been injured.
Four persons were killed and four injured in Etawah district. Three deaths are reported from Mathura, two in Agra and one each in Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Firozabad and Aligarh. The relief Commissioner of the state has sought detailed reports about the losses from affected districts.
High speed winds have damaged several power stations in Etawah district and it has affected power supply in several areas. Several trees uprooted and transmission lines of power have also been affected in different districts.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district authorities to extend financial assistance to the families of the deceased and injured. He has also directed the authorities to remain alert to save life and property.
