V Skills is a govt promoted initiative to bridge the employability gap that exists in the country today. V Skills certifications are for relevant qualifications that help candidates quantify and prove those skills that are valued by the employer and are in great demand. Your V skills Certificate is a proof that you have the requisite skills to do a job – which is why employers rate V Skills certifications and look for people who have them.
Two sets of exams have already been conducted. Certifications are awarded for domains that have high job creation and demand. Students who enroll (the fee is very low Rs.1875), get some material from which they need to prepare themselves, and come and take a certification exam.
Today we have a whole lot of graduates being churned out by all these private universities, every other km, on the highway, but sadly we find that most of these graduates are unemployable. The skill sets that they possess don’t match up with the demands of the new jobs being created in the service sector led economy of India. Course structure is archaic.
V skills is addressing this employability gap, and coming out with certifications that cater to the need of the job opportunities and the present job market. It helps people who have learnt on their own, don’t have a degree to show, but still possess the right skills to take up a job.
More certifications are being continuously added.
