MCD teacher, doctors called off strike but sanitation workers still on


latest newsIn the national capital, Municipal Corporation Teachers Association has called off their indefinite strike after they received their pending salaries. Along with teachers, MCD doctors and para medical staff have also called off their strike. However, strike of Municipal Corporations of Delhi workers continues over the non- payment of salary and allowances. With garbage piling up in different areas, the strike is creating hardship to the people in the national capital.

Earlier, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung had also offered additional loan of 300 crore rupees to East and North corporations to pay the salary of protesting workers. Delhi government had also released an 693 Crores rupees to the corporations in this regard but the protesters are demanding permanent solution of their salaries issue.

Meanwhile, Delhi police wrote to city government predicting breakdown of law and order if the strike continues. It also expressed fear of out break of an epidemic in the city.
