LNGP hospital to get all modern facilities

The city government has made all arrangements to make new Orthopaedic Block fully functional.  This block has been constructed, keeping in view, the need of the latest orthopedic surgery equipments and modern physiotherapy system.  Its ground floor will have Emergency Services, ICU and two Operation Theatres and one minor OT Unit apart from a Post Operative Ward, first floor will have OPD services whereas 3rd floor will house wards.

Dr. Walia along with local MLA Shoaib Iqbal and Health Secretary Anshu Prakash took round of the hospital which has been given the new look and structure after gradually demolishing age-old buildings.

The minister instructed the Health Department and Hospital Authorities to chalk out a time-bound construction plan so that a new OPD block at the Hospital could be commissioned at the earliest.  This block is being constructed in between surgical block and casualty block.  The new block will be earthquake resistant.  This will cater to the needs of large number of people residing in and around Central Delhi.  It would facilitate patients and their attendants in getting proper treatment without any hassle. 

Health Minister inspected a number of wards, orthopaedic block and other departments.  He has instructed the Hospital Authorities to install proper signages disseminating right direction and accurate information.  The Medical Superintendent apprised the Minister about the shortage of staff.  Further Dr. Walia assured that the issue of shortage of staff will be looked into for urgent appropriate action.  The problem of water shortage was also discussed with the DJB Authorities present during the visit.  The DJB has assured to provide an additional connection of bulk water for the hospital..

Dr Walia instructed the PWD Authorities to put extra efforts in maintenance of the buildings and electrical fittings.  The Minister expressed his displeasure over insanitary conditions and seepage especially in newly constructed blocks.  He also directed the PWD to look into the seepages and the DJB was also asked to get thorough check of sewage lines.  He instructed the Hospital Authorities to go for a comprehensive contract for Pest Control exercise for entire hospital.
