ICC World Cup: Pakistan win toss; elect to bowl against Australia

Cricket World Cup, Australia were 136 for nil in 21 overs against Pakistan at Taunton a short-while ago. Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl. Tomorrow India face New Zealand at 3 p.m. in Nottingham.

Heavy rain has forced three no-results in the tournament, so far, including yesterday’s game between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. New Zealand are currently leading the 10-team points table, with hosts England second and India third. Australia are fourth, Sri Lanka fifth, West Indies sixth, Bangladesh seventh and Pakistan eighth. South Africa and Afghanistan are the bottom two sides. Top four teams will make it to the semi-finals.

India have won both of their first two games against South Africa and Australia. They are scheduled to play New Zealand at Nottingham tomorrow. The semi-finals are slated for the 9th and 11th of next month. The Final will be played on the 14th.
