in the presence of another member of the committee , Mr Y.D. Benkta and the Registrar Co-Op societies, Mr A.B.Shukla.
The committee constituted on March 30 this year was asked to examine the entire gamut of issues relating to verification of membership in CGHS, particularly in the light of the investigations of many societies by the CBI. The committee had to burn midnight oil to finalise its recommendations within a short period of two months. It has recommended a number of corrective and precautionary measures.
In case of societies in which charge sheets have been filed by the CBI, the committee without giving any further recommendation has asked to implement the directions of the High Court. Further the committee has submitted that an appropriate recommendation can be made to DDA for draw of lots on the basis of evidences such as proof of residence, audit report and bank record of payments in case of original records been misplaced. In case of societies having conducted self draws certain recommendations have been made to set the record straight. Further the committee has also suggested certain measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents apart from the need of strengthening the office of RCS.
