Indian spying for Pakistan arrested in J&K

A spy named Bodh Raj was arrested from Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir for passing on vital information regarding deployment and movement of security forces to Pakistan.

Two Pakistani SIM cards and a map showing deployment of security forces was recovered from his possession. SSP, Samba, Joginder Singh said Bodh Raj of village Changiia of Jammu district was arrested for involvement of one his espionage activities based on information received from Military Intelligence.

He said Bodh Raj was found roaming in suspicious circumstances in Jerda village close to the International Border (IB) and tried to escape on observing the movement of the police party.

A case has been registered against the accused under Section 13 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Official Secrets Act, SSP said.

The spy has been put on sustained interrogation and his past case history is also being investigated. The Memory card used by him is also being scrutinized to ascertain more facts.

Bollywood filmmakers will not work with Pakistani artists: Mukesh Bhatt

adhmProducer and Indian Film and Television Producers Guild President Mukesh Bhatt today said, bollywood filmmakers will not work with Pakistani artistes in future. Mr Bhatt told this to reporters in Mumbai after meeting Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray.

Film producers, including Karan Johar accompanied him. The meeting was called by the Chief Minister to resolve the issue of release of film, ‘Ae Dil hai Mushkil’ starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

Mukesh Bhatt said that Karan Johar has offered to put a slate of tribute for Uri martyrs before ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starts playing. The film is due to release this Friday. Karan Johar will also to contribute in the army welfare fund irrespective of the film performance.

Mr Bhatt further said, a meeting of producers will be called and a resolution will be passed to ban Pakistani actors.

After the meeting MNS Chief Raj Thackeray announced to withdraw their stand to block the release of the film Ae Dil hai Mushkil. MNS had spearheaded the protest against the film as it is starring a Pakistani actor and had threatened to block the release of the film.

Deep depression formed in bay of bengal moves eastnorthwards: Met department

A depression has formed in Bay of Bengal over Central and adjoining southeast of the sea, and has moved further east-northeastwards with a speed of about 10 kmph in the last 6 hours and is presently lay centred at about 400 km west­northwest of Port Blair and 750 km west­-southwest of Yangon in Myanmar.

HM reviews situation along Indo-Pak border in J&K

Home Minister Rajnath Singh last night reviewed the situation along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir. Official sources said the Home Minister called up BSF Director General KK Sharma and took stock of the situation along the International Border in the state.

Senior Home Ministry officials are also in regular touch with BSF officials and monitoring the situation along the border.

TRAI for Rs 3,050 crore penalty on Airtel, Vodafone & Idea

mobile appTelecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended to imposition of 3,050 crore rupees penalty on Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea cellular for allegedly denying inter connectivity to newcomer Reliance Jio.

TRAI, in its recommendation to the Department of Telecom, said it has found the the three companies to be non-compliant with licence conditions regarding giving interconnection to Reliance Jio customers.

It also noted that denial of interconnection by these operators to RJio appears to be with the ulterior motive to stifle competition and is anti-consumer.

The recommendation came on complaint by Reliance Jio that over 75 per cent of calls on its network are failing as incumbents were not giving sufficient points of interconnect that would help complete calls.

PTV attack case: Court directs police to arrest Imran Khan, Tahirul Qadri

A Pakistani anti-terror court today ordered police to arrest cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and cleric Tahirul Qadri by November 17 in connection with an attack on the Pakistan Television(PTV) headquarters during an anti-government protest in 2014.

The court in Islamabad issued the orders during regular hearing of PTV attack case after police failed to carry out arrest warrants issued earlier.

The latest order by the court comes, amid Imran Khan launching another protest on November 2 to force PM Nawaz Sharif step down over the issue of alleged corruption.

Subrata Roy to deposit another Rs 200 cr to remain on parole

The Supreme Court today asked Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy to deposit another Rs 200 crore by November 28, as it extended its interim order granting him parole till then.

Besides Ray, the parole of his son-in-law Ashok Roy Choudhary and Sahara’s Director Ravi Shankar Dubey too have been extended.

The bench of Chief Justice T.S. Thakur, Justice Anil R. Dave and Justice A.K. Sikri asked Sahara to deposit Rs. 200 crores after senior counsel Kapil Sibal submitted a draft of Rs 215 crore as ordered on September 28.

Sibal said that Sahara was ordered to deposit Rs. 200 crores by September 28 order, instead of Rs. 200 crore they are depositing Rs. 215 crores, thus by November 28, they would deposit Rs. 185 crores only.

The next hearing of the matter would take place on November 28.

Meanwhile in pursuance to September 28 direction, Sahara today submitted a road-map for returning the investors money that according to SEBI stands at about Rs. 36,000 crores. The road-map submitted by Sahara today is spread over 26 month upto December 2018 by which time Sahara propose to refunds the investors’ money.

Sahara group’s two companies – Sahara India real estate corporation (SIRECL) and Sahara Housing Investment Corporation Ltd. (SHICL) – had raised through Optionally Fully Convertible Debenture (OFCDs) money from about 3.3 crores investors in 2008 and 2009.

The apex court by its August 31, 2012, order had directed the SIRECL and SHICL to return investors’ Rs 17,600 crore with 15 per cent interest.

Sibal today informed the court that the road-map that is spread over 26 months have been shared with market regulator SEBI and amicus curiae Shekhar Naphade and there some areas that needs to be discussed.

While allowing a free hand to Sahara to sell their assets, which are not attached, to raise the money, the court asked SEBI to consider the fresh bids willing to pay more money for the five properties that has already been put on block.

Roy was granted parole on May 6 this year to attend the last rites of his mother who had passed away on May 5. Besides Roy, his son-in-law Ashok Roy Choudhary too was released on parole.

Sahara Director Ravi Shankar Dubey was released on parole on July 11.

Odisha hospital fire: State Health Minister resigns

Odisha Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik this evening, in the aftermath of SUM Hospital fire tragedy leaving 25 patients dead.

Nayak’s resignation came a day after he admitted to lapses in fire safety measures at the hospital.

Informing media Naveen Patnaik said the Health minister resigned on moral grounds. After accepting the resignation, the same is being sent to for approval of Governor Dr. S C Jamir.

Earlier today, four more patients receiving treatment at different hospitals succumbed to injuries.On Monday, 21 patients died of asphyxiation and over a hundred were injured as the fire swept through the hospital corridors and its dialysis ward.

Centre asks for thorough investigation into outbreak of Bird Flu

The Centre today asked the National Institute for High Security Animal Diseases-NISHAD, Bhopal and Northern Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory,NRDDL, Jalandhar to thoroughly investigate the outbreak of the Bird Flu to determine the source of infection.

It will help zoo authorities across the country to implement suitable strategy to prevent the transmission of the disease to captive birds.

The direction came following the samples of dead birds in Zoological parks in Delhi and Gwalior testing positive for H5N8 Avian Influenza.

An official communique issued by Agriculture Ministry, said that the strain of this virus has not led to any human infection till now anywhere in the world. However, necessary precautions need to be taken while handling the sick and dead birds and contaminated material.

The release also said as per the World Organisation of Animal Health, the avian Influenza disease in wild and migratory birds does not affect the Bird Flu free status of the country and there are no trade implications.

Animal Husbandry Department has issued guidelines to the states and the zoo authorities on control and containment of the infection. It has also requested the Environment and Forests Ministry to issue advisories to all the wildlife and bird sanctuaries in the country to be on alert and take necessary actions for its prevention.

Meanwhile Delhi government has ruled out any threat to humans due to Bird Flu or Avian Influenza so far as its strain is less infective.

Briefing media, Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai said, the report of the samples of three birds which died recently at Delhi Zoo due to Bird Flu have been received and the category of the influenza virus is H5N8.

He said there is no need to panic as all measures are in place to deal with the situation. Mr Rai also said six ducks have been found dead in Deer park today in the city.

He said, vehicle carrying poultry will not be allowed entry in Ghazipur Mandi without a medical certificate from Sunday.

7 Pak Rangers, 1 militant killed in retaliatory firing by BSF

army-terror-attackThe Border Security Force,BSF has neutralised one militant and seven Pakistani rangers in Hira Nagar Sector of Jammu. In reply to sniper attack of Pakistani rangers this morning, the BSF launched an aggressive offensive. An official release said, in the exchange of fire, one BSF Constable received bullet injury and his condition is critical.

The Pak rangers had targeted the same area yesterday.The BSF also rebutted a news item in Pakistani media which claimed the death of only five Pak rangers.

The BSF is on high alert all along International Boundary and ready to foil any infiltration attempt.
