Woman Chops Off husband’s genitals in Assam

A woman in Dhubri district of  north eastern state of Assam has been arrested for allegedly chopping off her husband genitals.

Husband is admitted to local hospital where his condition is reported to be critical.  Woman was reportedly aggrieved over husband’s regular physical torture since since her marriage 8 months ago.

According to report in NorthEast Now, the woman, Momina Bibi, a resident of Dhubri district got married nearly eight months ago with Sofial Houqe of Bahadurtari area of Dhubri town alleged that her husband (Sofial Houqe) used to torture her regularly.

While the husband was asleep last night, the wife quietly tiptoed into the room and then proceeded to chop off his genitals, said victim (Husband).

She also tried to escape from the spot but on heard the incident, other members of the family awake and caught her and later handed over to Dhubri police.

Houqe was immediately taken to the Dhubri civil hospital as he was bleeding profusely.  He is currently battling for his life in Dhubri Civil Hospital, police said, adding his condition is critical.

On basis of the complaint, police arrested the accused wife and a case under relevant section of the IPC has been registered against her.
