External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj again expresses hope that all 39 Indians held hostage in Iraq for over one and a half year are alive. She met the family members of these 39 persons in Delhi on Sunday.
Sushma Swaraj said that her Ministry is in constant touch with all the Governments in the region on the issue.
” India still sure that all 39 Indians held hostage in Iraq for over one and a half years are alive”, External Affairs Minister said adding that the entire Arab World has assured to try to get these Indians freed soon.
She told the families that on her recent visit to Bahrain, she got direct information that all 39 Indians were alive and that the entire Arab World has promised India that they will try to get the 39 free soon.
These 39 Indians were captured by the terror group ISIS in Iraq over one and a half years back in June 2014.
She has met their families a number of times and has again assured the families that the government is making all sincere efforts for the safe and early release of the Indian workers.
