Human Resource Development Ministry has sought a report from Delhi University in the alleged molestation case of a research scholar by an assistant professor from St Stephen’s College. A Ministry official said, action in the case will be taken after evaluating the reply.
DU spokesperson Malay Neerav said, the university will respond to the letter soon. The student, who is doing her PhD under the accused, had approached police last week saying that she was molested by him in October, 2013. She has also alleged that the college principal tried to protect the accused when the matter was reported to the college authorities. The accused was yesterday denied anticipatory bail by a Delhi Court in the case.
