Senior IAS officer S N Sahai has been appointed as the new Home Secretary of Delhi. Sources said Home Ministry today issued the order appointing Mr. Sahai, a 1986 batch Union Territory cadre officer.
Mr. Sahai’s name was zeroed in as a compromise candidate for the high post after continuous tussle between the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and the Arvind Kejriwal-led government on the issue.
So far, senior IAS officer Dharam Pal, who was removed as Home Secretary last month by the AAP government, has been discharging his duties while AAP appointee Rajendra Kumar have also been signing files.
