Security tightened in Delhi ahead of Independence Day

New Delhi

lalqilaSecurity has been tightened in Delhi with areas in the Lutyens zone and those surrounding the historic Red Fort being turned into a fortress to ward off any security threats.

Ahead of the Independence Day, all the security agencies are working in co ordination to secure Delhi against all possible terror threats.

Bus terminals, Railway Stations and the Airport are on high alert as per inputs by the intelligence agencies regarding terrorist threats.

Police said all the border areas of the national capital are under strict surveillance and every movement is being monitored in coordination with the police of neighbouring states.

Extensive checking of vehicles is being carried out across the city and, elaborate check posts set up around important areas in the city, especially Lutyens Delhi and areas surrounding Red Fort monitoring movements of vehicles and suspicious elements.
