Row over change in name of Mughalsarai Junction

Opposition Samajwadi Party members forced a brief adjournment of the Rajya Sabha during the Zero Hour today over the proposed renaming of Mughalsarai railway station as the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay station in Uttar Pradesh.

Raising the issue, Naresh Agrawal asked how can the government change the name which is in existence since long. Countering this, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi pointed out how the name of Victoria Terminal in Mumbai was renamed as Chatrapaji Shivaji terminal.

Meanwhile, some of the Samajwadi party members trooped into the well raising slogans against the government forcing Deputy Chairman to adjourn the House for 10 minutes till 1138 hours.
