Reserve Bank of India, RBI has decided to give relief to the farmers affected by recent floods in West Bengal on payments of agricultural loans. According to State Agriculture Department sources, the RBI has said that farmers whose 33 percent cultivation have been damaged in floods will get two years, while whose 50 percent produce have been lost will get five years relief on payments of loans.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee recently requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to waive agricultural loans to the farmers affected in the floods in 12 districts of the State.
