Rains lash parts of Punjab, Haryana; mercury falls

RAIN

Rains lashed a few parts of Punjab and Haryana today leading to a fall in mercury by a few notches. Chandigarh, common capital of the states, also witnessed rain on Sunday morning.

According to MeT department, Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Mohali, Ropar and Patiala received downpour. The weatherman has forecast more rain over the next two days in the northern states.

Incessant rain continues to disrupt normal life in Himachal Pradesh

In Himachal Pradesh, there is no respite for people from continuous rainfall in most parts. Normal traffic has been hampered on more than one hundred link roads in interior and far flung areas. The Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at few places in ten districts of the state except Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti during next couple of days.
