Punjab: Police seizes 409 unlicensed weapons

punjab- indiaPunjab police have seized 409 unlicensed weapons after the enforcement of model code of conduct on January 4. Additional Director General of Police, V K Bhawra, who is a nodal officer with the Election Commission said, 51 crore 69 lakh rupees and gold worth 25 crore rupees have also been seized so far.

He said, 5 kg heroin and 1800 kg poppy husk have also been seized by police. Report about seizure has been submitted to the Election Commission of India.

According to sources, 392 cases have been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and 394 persons have been arrested. For paid news, 16 notices have been served till now as the media committees are keeping a close watch on the news.
