Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas here. Speaking on the occasion Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the NRIs can play a great role in start up, stand up, and defence manufacturing sector while working for the development of India.
He said the government has taken a new step in Passport seva service recently and is planning to provide E Visa also. He also said the Government is going to start Pravasi Teerth Darshan Yojna. He said that government will help NRIs in every possible manner.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that India’s image as a powerful country improved leaps and bounds due to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mrs Swaraj remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for starting Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
The chief guest at the convention, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth started his speech in Hindi. He said that the convention is the most precious gathering of India diaspora.
Minister of State for External Affairs, Dr. V K Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand and Haryana are also present.
