PM asks BJP to reach out to poor Muslims

BJP’s two-day national executive meet in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar concluded today with resoultion to take party policy and programme across the country.

chadar dargah PMTalking to media after the concluding session of the meeting, senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari said, senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the party to reach out to poor Muslims, who have not benefitted much in all these years. Making an intervention during the BJP national executive meeting, Mr. Modi said, even Muslim communities have backwards, who are marginalised, and it was the duty of the BJP to take the fruits of development to them.

Prime Minister’s outreach to backward Muslims comes amidst the backdrop of a move to accord constitutional status to the OBC commission. In the Lok Sabha a bill related to this has been passed, but it got blocked in Rajya Sabha.

Mr. Gadkari said, during the meeting, Muslim women who are facing difficulties on the issue of triple talaq, was also discussed.

Quoting Prime Minister, Mr Gadkari said, the EVM issue is latest product of these manufacturing units and the party should not focus on such small manufactured issues and focus on the development.

Mr. Modi also appreciated party President Amit Shah for his great work in Uttar Pradesh and other states, helping the party win.

He appreciated the BJP, saying no other party would have suffered and digested so many electoral losses. But BJP continued working hard, and achieved the target, which shows the grass root party workers determination. He also said, the party should move forward with the formula of New India at faster pace. He gave the vision of P2-G2, pro people, proactive, and good governance.

Earlier in the day, in BJP’s national executive meet, two resolutions were passed. A resolution was passed thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the commission on OBC. Another resolution also condemned the manner in which Congress and other parties are playing politics in this connection and stalling the bill.
