Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has said the Parliament and other legislative bodies should be a place for debate, discussion and decision but not a place of disruption.
Addressing the students of Anna University in Chennai on Sunday evening after inaugurating the DAVP exhibition ‘New India-We Resolve to Make,’ he said construction is the only way forward for the country rather than obstruction.
He stressed the need to get rid of corruption, uncleanliness, illiteracy, poverty, terrorism, communalism and casteism and build a new and developed India.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu stressed that terrorism has no colour or religion adding it must be curbed at all costs. He termed terror as the enemy of the whole humanity.
He also underlined the need to uphold the nation’s long cherished family values. He advocated sustainable agriculture with climate resilient crops.
He highlighted that, for such a huge population as that of India, import would not be a feasible option to meet its food grains need. He asked for increasing the income of farmers through measures such as the e-National Agricultural Market or e-NAM.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anant Kumar in his address said a branch of the National Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research would be opened in Madurai soon.
